OUR FARMS
Growing with care, season after season.
Our farming practices are focused on producing healthy, high-quality fruit through responsible orchard management and attention to every stage of growth.
Môreson
As the founding farm of Mortru, Môreson has been at the heart of our farming journey for generations.
Situated in the picturesque Vyeboom Valley in the heart of the Elgin fruit-growing region, it benefits from a unique combination of cool summers, cold winters, fertile soils, and abundant mountain water. These ideal growing conditions allow us to produce premium-quality apples and pears with exceptional colour, flavour, and texture.
Our orchards are managed using modern production practices and sustainable farming methods, combining generations of farming experience with innovative technology to ensure consistent quality while caring for the land for future generations.
Today, Môreson cultivates a range of premium apple varieties, including Royal Gala, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Fuji, Pink Lady and Cripps Red (Sundowner), together with Rosemarie and Packham's Triumph pears.

Bergrede
Acquired in 2021, Bergrede marks Mortru's expansion into the Greyton Valley in the Overberg. Surrounded by mountains and blessed with favourable growing conditions, the farm is being developed to produce premium-quality apples while embracing sustainable farming practices and responsible land stewardship.
As a young and growing farm, Bergrede reflects our commitment to investing in the future - cultivating not only productive orchards but also meaningful relationships with our employees, neighbours, and the wider community.
Named after the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5), Bergrede is a constant reminder that growth is best rooted in humility, gratitude, and service.
